GST Bill On Top Priority in the Parliament’s Monsoon Session, Beginning on July 18

The Monsoon session of the Parliament, beginning from the July 3rd week will witness some major proceedings. The cabinet committee will be deciding the actual schedule of the session. It has also come into notice that the GST Bill will be on the top Priority. The Monsoon session will be headed by Home Minister Rajnath singh. The final schedule will be decided on June 29 in the meeting.

 

The Government is keen to work on the GST Bill as it has been kept pending for a long time. The GST Bill has been passed in the Lok Sabha and is waiting for the Rajya Sabha approval. It is likely to be passed in the session with the support of some opposition party members in Rajya sabha. The Government failed to implement the GST regime that was to be done from April 2016. FM Arun Jaitley claims that several states have come forward in the support of the GST. Only the matter is pending with Tamil Nadu due to some reservations. The Government is positive towards the GST bill and believes that this will boost the country’s GDP.
