Tamil Nadu Vanigar Sangankalin Peramaippu requested the Centra and State Governments to extend the last date of filing the Income Tax Return
The Cheif Minister of Tamilnadu, A.M. Vikkiramaraja, told that numerous micro, small, medium and large businesses in the state have been temporarily shut down on requests of the government to contain the spread of the virus. Businesses in all the parts of the state including that in the bigger cities like Chennai have tumbled as the people are remaining indoors. More than half of the businessmen have felt the heat and faced a huge loss of revenue.

Although preventive steps are being taken by the government, the situation can get worse in the coming weeks. Public places like shopping malls, cinema halls, and tourist spots are being closed down for the public that will affect the revenues of the state as well as the local businesses too. Peramaippu also asked the government to issue a proper order for the public to avoid the spread of the virus as officials in numerous places were seen shutting down the small business too.
He also requested that the defaulters in fining the returns should not be penalized for the delayed IT returns and the last dates of filing GST returns
