Exporter Blames Government For Not Getting GST Refunds

Even though the government is claiming that in the GST, exporters started receiving online refunds, but the reality is different. According to the exporters, refunds have not been received even after the implementation of new rules, while the government had said that Refund will be available seven days after filing 6A and GSTR-3B.

Refund of Rs. 6,500 Crores Stuck

According to the IGST refund shipping bill from July to October, the amount of Rs 6,500 crore and the input tax credit amount which is approximately Rs 30 crore is collected. The government had asked the exporters to file Table 6A and GSTR-3B for IGST refund and input tax credits. Exporter says that refund is not available even after filing Table 6A and GSTR-3B on the portal as mentioned by the government.

Exporter Claims No Refund Is Availed

Om Prakash Prahladka, chairman of Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts (EPCH), explained the government is saying that the refund has begun. But it is not so. The export industry has not yet started receiving refunds.
On the filing of table 6A and GSTR-3B on the business portal of the business, the refund is not showing in the exporters’ account. Prahladka said that the refund and Table 6A are not able to be filed on the GST portal by many exporters as the common portal is not working properly.

Export Bears The Loss

Handicraft Exporter Rajkumar Malhotra said that the government has also admitted that there is a problem in the GST portal, then the government should first eliminate this problem as the Customs officials also agree that there is no problem in custom bills but on GST portal as it is showing miss match with IGST. Malhotra said that the businesses are bearing the direct loss as the working capital is stuck for five months.
