Over 1.03 crore businesses have been registered under the new Goods and Service Tax (GST) regime and the implementation of the biggest tax reform has been running smoothly so far, Parliament was informed on Friday.
Till 2nd March, a total of 1,03,99,305 taxpayers are registered under GST, which includes 64.42 lakh taxpayers who have emigrated from the recent expense regime and 39.56 lakh who have taken new registration under GST, said by Minister of State for Finance Shiv Pratap Shukla.
While giving the written reply to the question raised in Lok Sabha, Shukla said, “As a result of the sustained efforts made by the government to make GST trade friendly, the implementation of GST in the country has been smooth so far”.
Providing month wise details of GST revenues, Shukla said the collections from Central GST, State GST, Integrated GST and compensation cess were Rs 93,590 crore for July, Rs 93,029 crore for August, Rs 95,132 crore for September and Rs 85,931 crore for October. The revenue for November stood at Rs 83,716 crore, of December at Rs 88,929 crore and for January at Rs 88,047 crore.
The minister also said that the Central Board of Excise and Customs (CBEC) set up a national call centre which is functioning round-the-clock to attend and solve the queries raised by the customers.

He said,”The taxpayer can raise a query via toll-free phone number 18001200232 or by sending an email to cbecmitra.helpdesk@icegate.gov.in.”
He added that the GSTN ( Goods and Service Tax Network) has also set up an additional helpline phone service with number 0120-4888999 to the answer software related queries.
