HC Directs I-T Department to Respond in Case of Same PAN Card

Delhi High Court seeks to answer the income tax department on the strange case, in which the man claiming his PAN is indeed being provided to another individual for which he obtained the notices from the bank to clear the credit card bills of that particular individual.

The person, who seeks advice from the authorities to solve the defect of providing the two Permanent Account Number (PAN) cards with the identical number of two distinct individuals mentioned that he is being requested to repay a debt of Rs 2 lakh against the credit card which had not been allotted to him.

Justice Prathiba M. Singh allotted the notices and seeks responses from the Department of Income Tax, Directorate of Income Tax (System), National Securities Depository Ltd, State Bank of India (SBI), and Credit Information Bureau India Ltd (CIBIL) on the petition.

On the case listed for hearing on 21st April, the high court described that there is no tight step taken via bank against the applicant for not doing the credit card payments.

Because of the issuance of the PAN of the client to some other person, the credit scores were affected said Advocate Amit Verma, appearing for the petitioner.

On 15th August 2017, the petition noted that a duplicate PAN exists and in turn, he obtain the income tax notice for furnishing the false income tax return via him said the council.

The applicant sought the respondents several times to make the correction, mentioned in the petition.

He arrives at SBI directly for eliminating all his debts since he does not hold a credit card.

Applicant asked for the correction in his credit card score for his CIBIL which has been reduced without his fault.

The applicant seeks the harassment compensation that was yielded to his reputation.
