The Bengal has raised the threshold limit for an e-way bill of goods for intrastate movement. Now, the limit is up to Rs. 1 lakh which was previously up to Rs 50,000.
The West Bengal government has also declared that there is no requirement of e-way bill generation when the goods are sent for job workers, mentioned by Amit Mitra, Finance Minister.
He further said that the e-way bill is needed with the consignment worth more than Rs. 1 lakh irrespective of from where the goods are terminated or originated within the state or intra-state transfer when the goods do not pass the other states. Previously, this limit was Rs. 50,000.
Generally, the e-way bill was needed when the accumulated value of goods and tax exceeds Rs. 50,000. Mitra added that e-way bill is not generated when the goods are sent to other states for job works or return from job work or sent to another job work from one job work, because here the purpose is not to deliver the finished goods but for the manufacturing purpose.
