Advisory Group to Find Solution For GST Related Problems

The Advisory Group which is formed to assist the Law Review Committee of GST Council is going to gather on 8th November in Guwahati for 23rd GST Council Meeting to decide the proposed changes in provisions to create a system for a smooth functioning of GST.

The Confederation of All India Traders said in a statement about the advisory group, “it will specifically discuss the proposed amendments in GST Law and Rules to make it more simplified and rationalized and easy to adopt by the traders.”

The advisory group will consider the probable amendments in GST Law and its provisions and will propose the discussed recommendations to the Law Review Committee on November 30 this month.

It has been decided to include six important persons from various backgrounds as members of the Advisory Group, the members can be inclusive of CAIT Secretary General Praveen Khandelwal and retired Chief Commissioner of Central Board of Direct Taxes Gautam Ray as the convenor.

CAIT engaged in Goods and Services Tax Darbaar organized at the BJP headquarter said, “most of the traders stated that framing of 28 percent tax slab was not at all required in a country like India and moreover the items placed under this slab have been done purely in an arbitrary manner.” The CAIT examined that it is required to narrow the 28% tax slab on the luxury and demerit goods only.
