Goods and Services Tax (GST), is known as the crucial tax reform in our nation since independence. A lot of speculation has been going on regarding the Indian GST Bill since the chief leader of ruling BJP and FM-Arun Jaitley had proposed the Bill last year in the Parliament. Now the NDA government is going to seriously talk on the GST bill in the Rajya Sabha in this week of winter session. But it is not possible to implement GST in the upper house of Parliament without the Congress’s support.

Centre Should Set the GST Rate of 17-18 Per Cent: CEA-led Committee

The chief committee of government, CEA-led has given a suggestion to the Centre to set the Goods and Services Tax (GST) rate around 17-18 Percent. The committee also believes that this rate is suitable for every one and will help to boost the chances of common agreement on the vital reform. This rate meets all requirements of constitutional amendment bill, therefore there are many chances for the bill to be passed in current winter session.

1% Inter-State Tax Might be Removed to Pass the GST

The opposition parties have their own demand on GST and have created difficult situations for the BJP government to roll-out the Bill on its deadline. Between hubbub of parliament, the Indian government may take decision towards the much-awaited crucial reform-Goods and Service Tax. The government may scrap 1% inter-state tax as the main opposition party-Congress wants to remove this addition tax. If the government accepts this demand of opposition then the Bill will be passed on 1st April, 2016, otherwise it may be missed-out from its deadline.

Mayawati burst out over intolerance, but backs GST Bill

BSP Chief Mayawati on Monday taken a side of NDA Government’s proposed legislation on the Goods and Services Tax (GST) and also slammed the BJP Government for Intolerance in the country. Mayawati continued speaking about the GST bill in Rajya Sabha, said, “If your government is fully confident that bringing the GST bill is in the interest of the nation, it will bring a change in the economy and give a boost to it, the BSP will definitely back it. Our party supports the bill in Parliament.”

Centre Claims, 30 Parties Favor To Pass GST Bill
